In observance of World Book Day on April 23, the University of Macau Library hosted a "Flash Reading" event at 3:00 p.m. in the library lobby, inviting faculty and students to gather for a brief yet profound reading experience through the recitation of classic texts. The event was inaugurated by University Librarian Xu Hong, who led participants in reading aloud, in English, iconic passages from Seven Nights by the Argentine literary giant Jorge Luis Borges. The collective recitation of the celebrated line, "I had always imagined Paradise as a kind of library," struck a deep chord among attendees.
