Exhibition of Paintings “near and far -- and mainly Macao” and UM Publication Book Launch (2009/02/16)

Dear All,

You are cordially invited to the opening ceremony of an exhibition and UM publication book launch at the Anthony S. W. Lau Exhibition Hall of the University Library at 4:00pm Friday 20th February, 2009.

The launching books are authored by Dr. Carol Archer and Professor Christopher Kelen. Archer's book Work of Macao Hands presents a collection of watercolours offering close-up views of Macao, while Kelen's The River Considered as Sea,a ten-part poem with ink and watercolour pictures, renders Macao at a distance.

Those books will be launched by Professor Robert Antony of the University's History Department. The launch will be followed by readings of The River Considered as Sea in English, Portuguese and Chinese by Professor Kelen, Professor Espadinha, Dr. Yao Jing Ming and Ms Hilda Tam.

The exhibition of paintings "near and far -- and mainly Macao" by the two authors will be held at the Anthony S.W. Lau Exhibition Hall from 10:30am to 5:30pm during the period from 21st February to 6th March 2009.

Should you have any inquiries, please feel free to contact us at 8397 8191 or 8397 8171 or email at lib_ref@umac.mo.

All are welcome!

Thank you for your kind attention!
