In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019, it is ranked among the top 400. It is among the top 1% in Essential Sciences Indicators (ESI) rankings in five subjects, namely Engineering , Pharmacology & Toxicology, Computer Science, Clinical Medicine, and Social Sciences, General. According to Rector Yonghua Song, today’s UM is on the threshold of a new era, and its rapid progress would not have been possible without the support of the central and Macao SAR governments as well as people from all walks of society.
