Daoist Fulu Year: 19th century Call Number: RTC-WHC111 This book is a folk manuscript of talismans, featuring three distinct handwritings, and is thus believed to be a collection of manuscripts by three different individuals. The contents include eight functional categories: summoning spirits, zhuyou (treatment using incantations), exorcism, banishing, calendrics, fate calculation, matchmaking, and disaster aversion. The style and content of the talismans and spells in this book are relatively rare. On one hand, they are different from those found in commonly used traditional talisman manuscripts used by the current Three Mountain Talismans of Zhengyi Dao—the Shangqing School of Mount Maoshan, the Lingbao School of Mount Gezao, and the Heavenly Masters Sect of Mount Longhu; On the other hand, they also differ from the southern talismans in Guangdong and Fujian, commonly known as Nanmao, such as Kunlun, Liumin, Liuren, and Jinying Sects. They are more similar to the content of the Lingbao and Shangqing talismanic practices that have been circulated among the folk and have now been lost. 257 49
