We are pleased to announce that the Library has recently subscribed to the following databases:
(1) CSA Linguistics & Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA) -- it abstracts and indexes the international literature in linguistics and related disciplines in the language sciences. The database covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics.
(2) HeinOnline -- it is a research database for legal literature, providing full text access to legal journals and other legal materials from seven collections, namely, Law Journal Library, Federal Register Library, Treaties and Agreements Library, U.S. Supreme Court Library, European Center for Minority Issues, U.S. Attorney General Opinions and Legal Classics.
(3) Oxford English Dictionary (OED) Online -- it covers the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million English words from the past and the present. The usage of words is traced through 2.5 million quotations from a wide range of international English language sources. The online version contains the complete text of the 20-volume Second Edition, first published in 1989, together with its 3-volume Additions Series, published in 1993 (volumes 1 and 2) and 1997 (volume 3).
Please go to the library homepage, click on the "Databases" and use the link provided to get access to these databases. Furthermore, the Library has also mounted the OED, a very important reference tool, on the first page of the Library homepage to facilitate the convenient usage.
Kindly let us know at lib_ref@umac.mo if you have encountered any problem in your search and use of these databases. |
