E-books, as e-journals, are useful resources that have the main advantages of online access, powerful searchability, simultaneous browsing by more than one reader, and saving of shelving space. Therefore, the Library has planned to gradually add e-book titles that are relevant to our teaching and research activities to its collection. In this connection, we are now pleased to announce the following two e-book collections that we have recently secured trial rights for members of the university community.

Books24x7 -- It is a huge on-line library containing thousands of digitized books. This trial version offers two categories of collections: ITPro and BusinessPro, covering technical and business reference content. You can try it out athttp://library.books24x7.com until 30th November 2005.

ebrary -- It is an online collection of books spanning over multiple subject areas, having more than 60,000 online, full-text books and other authoritative content from more than 200 of the world's leading academic and professional publishers. Please try it out at http://site.ebrary.com/lib/umac until 20th November 2005.
