Welcome back to the new academic year and warmest greetings to those of you who have just joined the UM family!

In order to facilitate the use of Turnitin -- a plagiarism detection tool to evaluate the originality of student’s work, we are pleased to announce that the Turnitin has now been integrated with UMMoodle (the E-learning management system currently being used in UM) online. Therefore, UM users have no need to open an account for Turnitin and can directly submit papers to Turnitin through the UMMoodle for checking.

Furthermore, to help UM users understand what Turnitin is and how it can assist to check for plagiarism, the Library has tentatively arranged with the vendor to give a talk on its functionality on 14th October 2009 (Wednesday) for two sessions (morning and afternoon). Moreover, a 10-minute demonstration on the process concerning Turnitin’s integration with UMMoodle given by ICTO staff will follow the vendor’s presentation. The details of training schedule will be announced later.
