The 2023 Textbook and Academic Book Fair was held at the University of Macau Library on 16 August 2023. The book fair was co-organized by the University of Macau Library and the Plaza Cultural Macau. It aimed to promote academic publications, encourage local academic exchanges, and make acquiring latest textbooks and academic books from renowned publishers easier for students.
The opening ceremony was held in the morning of 16 August 2023. The officiating guests included Mr. Chan U Ion (General Manager of Plaza Cultural Macau), Dr. Wu Jianzhong (University Librarian of UM Library), Dr. Raymond Wong (Associate University Librarian of UM Library), Ms. Priscilla Pun (Functional Head of UM Library), Dr. Henry Yang (Functional Head of UM Library), and more than ten representatives of exhibitors from all over the world. The book fair was supported by many well-known publishers and booksellers around the world, such as Cambridge University Press, Cengage Learning, EBSCO Information Service, Elsevier, GOBI Library Solution from EBSCO, McGraw-Hill, Pearson, ProQuest, Sage, Springer, Taylor & Francis, World Scientific. More than 2000 kinds of books were exhibited, which included print and electronic textbooks and academic books.
During the book fair, 12% discount will be offered for buying books. Exquisite souvenirs will also be distributed by exhibitors. Check-in booths were setup for photos, and “Book Crossing” books will be given away. All are welcome to visit the book fair, which will be held from 16 to 18 August 2023.
