Exhibition of Calligraphy, Painting and Artwork from MALA Library staff (2024/10/09)

 

Organized by the Macau Academic Library Alliance and hosted by the Macao University of Tourism Library, an exhibition of artworks created by librarians from the alliance was unveiled to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau Academic Library Alliance. The exhibition aims to showcase the artistic creations of local librarians while highlighting that art serves as a source of inspiration and innovation for the development of academic libraries in Macau. The exhibition features the works of 12 librarians from 5 different libraries, including traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, photography, and tile rubbing prints. The exhibited pieces have distinct themes, rich content, and unique characteristics, embodying both high intellectual and artistic value, and reflecting the librarians' dedication to virtue and artistic excellence. The exhibition will be on display until the 13th of next month.

Guests attending the opening ceremony included: Tam Sio Wa, Acting Director of the Department of Higher Education on behalf of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau; Lam Io Fan, Director of the Escola Superior das Forças de Segurança de Macau; Lei Ka Man, Library Director of Macau University of Tourism; Ines Lau, Library Director of Macao Polytechnic University; Shi Limei, Library Director of City University of Macau; Emily Chan, Head Librarian of the University of Saint Joseph (Macao); Wong Kwok Keung, Associate Librarian of the University of Macau; Xiao Long, Executive Deputy Director of the Macau University of Science and Technology Library; Tan Zehan, Associate Professor of the Macau Millennium College; Kuok Chi Kin, representative of the Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau Library; and Leung Tak Hoi, Vice Chair of the Macao Library and Information Management Association.

Library staff from the University of Macau who participated in the art exhibition include Fong Pou Leng, Lo Soi Man, Song Sok Fong, Law Sio Kuan, Chan Man Wa, and Chong Sok I.
