Representatives from the University of Macau Library attended the Chinese Library Annual Conference (2024/10/09)

 

Representatives from the University of Macau Library attended the "2024 Chinese Library Annual Conference" held in Yichang. This conference was instructed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, co-organized by the Library Society of China and the Yichang Municipal People's Government, and supported by the National Library and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Hubei Province. Chen Ping, Vice Governor of Hubei Province, and Chen Ying, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the National Library, attended and delivered speeches. Rao Quan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, delivered a speech and announced the opening.

With the theme of "New Journey and New Mission: The Power of Libraries to Promote the Construction of Modern Civilization of the Chinese Nation", the 2024 Chinese Library Annual Conference had set up 7 main sessions and 18 sub-sessions, and launched a variety of activities such as exhibitions and promotions, exchanges and discussions. Librarians from all over the country participated in the event, together with more than 3,000 library colleagues from South Korea, Russia, Singapore and other countries as well as Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China. The Chinese Library Annual Conference was the highest-level and largest annual event in our country's library community, and played an important role in promoting theoretical research in library science and the development of librarianship.

Representatives from Macao participating in the conference included the University of Macau Library Asscioate Librarian Raymond Wong, Assistant Librarian Billy Leung, and Functional heads Stephen Lei and Wilson Hoi.
