In the afternoon of December 5, 2024, Chair Yang Chunhua of the Governing Board of the Shanghai Library and her delegation attended the exhibition “Winds of Confluence: The Story of Macao in the Historical Archives of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.” During the cooperation and exchange meeting with the University of Macau Library, the Ajuda Library of Portugal and the First Historical Archives of China, the Shanghai Library, accompanied by Librarian Wu Jianzhong of the University of Macau, visited the University Gallery, UM Archives, Museum of Arts, library and "Window of Shanghai" exhibition area, which has housed more than 600 new books donated by the Shanghai Library. Then, they had an exchange discussion with colleagues from the UM Library.
Chair Yang Chunhua said that the two libraries should strengthen professional exchanges, promote cooperation in academic seminars, resource exchanges, and mutual visits of librarians, and continue to provide new books for the "Shanghai Window" project. Librarian Wu Jianzhong thanked the Shanghai Library for its support to the UM Library over the years and looked forward to renewing the cooperation agreement to further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two libraries.
Other guests attended the exchange meeting included research librarian Huang Wei and associate research librarian Jin Jing of the Shanghai Library, Assistant Librarian Billy Leung, Functional Head Priscilla Pun, Functional Head Stephen Lei, Functional Head Wilson Hoi, and Functional Head Henry Yang of the UM Library.
