On the afternoon of June 27, 2025, a delegation from Shanghai Normal University Library, including Deputy Director Gu Shaoquan, Director of the Discipline & Information Services Center Ma Lingyun, Deputy Director of the Data & Technical Support Center Qiao Guocheng, and Sun Qi from the Ancient Books & Special Collections Preservation Center, visited the University of Macau Library. They were warmly received by University Librarian, Prof. Hong Xu. The delegation began with a tour of the "Winds of Confluence : The story of Macau in the Historical Archives of the Ming and Qing Dynasties" exhibition, the Museum of Art “Regarding Books.” exhibition, and the Rare Books Collection. Afterwards, they participated in a discussion and exchange with colleagues from the University of Macau Library.
Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the preservation of rare documentary collections, the organization and digitization of ancient and valuable books, the application of AI in libraries, open science services, and the development of institutional repositories. They reached a consensus on deepening cooperation between the two libraries. The Functional Head, Stephen Lei, Wilson Hoi, Henry Yang, and the University Librarian’s Secretary, Winnie Leung, from the University of Macau Library also participated in the welcoming and discussions.
