Dear All,

In order to acquire the newly published books available in the world market as soon as they are published,the Library has initiated a book acquisition plan called "Book Approval Plan" in cooperation with our book vendors since 2007. Under this plan, the new books will arrive automatically according to subject profiles as pre-set by members of our teaching staff. Up to now, all of the 5 Faculties of UM have joined this plan and set up 38 core subject areas for book acquisition.

There is a constant need to refresh/update the Plan from time to time and keep it synchronous with our ever-evolving curriculum. The next occasion to do so will be on 27 March 2012 when our Library Book Approval Vendor -- YBP Library Services (based in US) -- will come to UM to conduct a Workshop to introduce their new services and to set up (or update) subject profiles in collaboration with our faculty members. The following lists the time and venue of the Workshop:


Workshop on "A System to Receive New Publications in Your Area Automatically and Quickly -- Library Book Approval Plan"

Venue: Orientation Room 1, G/F, UM Library
Speakers: Senior Managers of YBP Library Services

~~ YBP Library Services, a Baker and Taylor company, is a book vendor that all of the universities in Hong Kong and many in US are using as their major book vendor~~
