Come and Join the Information Literacy@UM Library Program (2010/03/05)

Dear All,

As we all know, information literacy is of paramount importance in this information age. The Library is, therefore, planning to launch another program of Information Literacy@UM Library in this semester. This program is designed to help UM users in getting information for their learning and research, and solving their problems in using library resources and services.

This training program will be held from March to June 2010 and the courses are divided into four categories:
(1) Basic Skills: How to get familiar with the library catalog, collections and services?
(2) Resources: How to explore the library resources?
(3) Evaluation: How to evaluate sources and to get published?
(4) Citations: How to cite sources and use citations?

Attached please kindly find the poster for more details.

Besides, teaching members may also request for a library course with special topics according to their needs. Such tailor-made courses can be organized to include any subject areas in relation to using the library’s resources, services, and facilities. To schedule a session, please email to lib_ref@umac.mo at least 2 weeks in advance.

Staff members are welcome to enroll in any courses in this program and also recommended to encourage their students to register for these courses. Each participated student will get one Smart Point after attending two courses.

Please visit our webpage at https://library.umac.mo/services/reference/libprog/asp/libprogram.asp for online registration.

For any enquiry, please contact us at lib_ref@umac.mo by calling 8397 8171 or 8397 8191.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Regards,
UM Library
