We are pleased to make the following announcement regarding two new electronic databases --
(1) Database on Trial
In order to support faculty members and students in their teaching, learning and research, the Library has already acquired a substantial number of electronic databases. To further develop along this line, the Library constantly liaises with database vendors to have their new products tried out by our users before we decide to purchase them or not. The Handbook of Pragmatics Online is the latest one.
Handbook of Pragmatics Online -- It provides information on research in the field of linguistic pragmatics, conceived as the interdisciplinary (cognitive, social, and cultural) science of natural language use. Please use the link provided in "Trial Databases" at our web site or access at http://www.benjamins.com/online/hop/ for your search and browse. Entering a search term will result in a list of those articles that contain the term anywhere in the text. However, the articles can not be retrieved through the list directly. The valid trial period of this database is until 9th April 2006 and the login information for access is as follows:

(2) Database Newly Subscribed
We are also pleased to announce that the Library has recently subscribed to Taylor and Francis Online Journals, which covers many subject areas such as arts and humanities, business and management, education, engineering and technology, health science, social science, and so on. Please go to the library homepage, click on the "Databases" and use the link provided to get access or directly at URL http://journalsonline.tandf.co.uk/ to access this database.
