Dear All,

In order to support faculty members and students in their teaching, learning and research, the Library has already acquired a substantial number of electronic databases. To further develop along this line, the Library constantly liaises with database vendors to have their new products tried out by our users before we decide to purchase them or not. The following databases are the latest ones.

(1) Ebook Library -- It is a web-based ebook viewing platform. About 950 titles of e-books on the subjects of business, social science & humanities, science & technology, law, and education are pre-selected for this trial version. Please try it out with the following user name and password at http://www.umac.eblib.com.au/EBLWeb/patron.html until 3 May 2006.

(2) Oxford Digital Reference Shelf -- It is created from Oxford's award-winning print scholarly references, containing 12 e-reference resources; namely, Encyclopedia of the Enlightenment, Encyclopedia of Evolution, Encyclopedia of Global Change, Encyclopedia of the Middle Ages, International Encyclopedia of Dance, Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium, The Oxford Dictionary of the Renaissance, Oxford Encyclopedia of Ancient Egypt, Oxford Encyclopedia of Economic History, Oxford Encyclopedia of Food and Drink in America, Oxford Encyclopedia of the Reformation and Oxford Encyclopedia of Theatre and Performance. Please try it out with the following user name and password athttp://library.umac.mo/E_RESOURCES/trial.html until 30 April 2006.

All of those collections are cross-searchable with the same platform, and also you will be able to access those titles of Oxford Digital Reference Shelf. Please try it out at http://www.oxfordreference.com until 30 April 2006.

Finally, TBMC (Transmission Books & Microinfo Co., LTD.) invites us to try five Chinese databases in various categories such as industries journals, newspaper from Taiwan, Taiwan cookery information, Chinese library and information science abstracts, and Grand Chinese Dictionary.
