Databases On Trial (2006/11/16)

Dear All,

In order to support faculty members and students in their teaching, learning and research, the Library has already acquired a substantial number of electronic databases. To further develop along this line, the Library constantly liaises with database vendors to have their new products tried out by our users before we decide to purchase them or not. The following databases are the latest ones.

(1) Criminal Justice eCollection -- It offers online collection on periodicals and reference information for legal study. Please try it out at http://find.galegroup.com/ips/start.do?userGroupName=macau&prodId=IPS&DB=SPJ.SP01_GVRL.macaucri until 31st December 2006.

(2) Educator eCollection -- It provides useful information for educator, covering the latest technologies, developments, instruction and coaching breakthroughs as well as background information on child health and development. You can try it out at

(3) Psychology eCollection -- It gives individuals a basic understanding of the study of the mind and emotions. Kindly try it out athttp://find.galegroup.com/ips/start.do?userGroupName=macau&prodId=IPS&DB=SPJ.SP00_GVRL.macaupsy until 31st December 2006.

(4) Journal Citation Reports (JCR) -- It is published annually in two editions; namely, JCR Science Edition and JCR Social Sciences Edition. Only the edition and year 2003 covered by this trial version is offered. Please take a trial athttp://portal.isiknowledge.com/portal.cgi?DestApp=JCR&Func=Frame until 31st December 2006.

(5) Web of Science -- It is a suite of citation databases including Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED)--1975-present, Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI)--1975-present, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI)--1975-present in this trial version. The three citation databases contain citation and abstract information on the published journal articles. Full-text is not available on this trial.
