Enhancement of Interlibrary Loan Service (2009/09/01)

Dear All,

Welcome back to the new academic year and warmest greetings to those of you who have just joined the UM family!

Interlibrary loan service (that is, to borrow for our users books/journal articles from other libraries) has always been very popular with our users. For example, in 2008, a total of 6,149 pages of journal articles and 342 volumes of books have been obtained from other libraries. In order to further improve this service, the Library has now reached new agreements with two more academic libraries in Hong Kong for resource-sharing purpose with details as follows:

With effect from 1st September 2009, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Library has agreed to offer free interlibrary loans of books to our Library in addition to journal articles free of charge already granted previously. Moreover, the Hong Kong Institute of Education Library has agreed to waive the charges of requesting books and journal articles through our interlibrary loan service.
