Dear All,
In order to assist faculty members and students in preparing their research papers, the Library has contacted our database vendors to seek a useful tool to help managing research work and generating bibliography. The RefWorks is the one that the vendor offers for our users to try out before the Library decides to purchase.
RefWorks is an online research management, writing and collaboration tool, that is designed to help researchers to easily gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as to generate citations and bibliographies.
There are mainly three ways to get your references into RefWorks:
Importing directly from certain online database services that have a link to RefWorks within their databases
Importing text files containing references from online database services
Manually entering references
You are cordially invited to try out this tool online via the campus network until 31st August 2006. Please directly access its website by the link as www.refworks.com or use the link provided in "Trial Databases" at our web site for your search.
Kindly note that you are required to create your own username and password for access. Firstly, please click "Login" icon on the webpage to sign up for an individual account. In the event of the RefWorks login page not for University of Macau, you are required to input the Group Code as RWUMacau by clicking the link of "Login using your Group Code" before the access.
In addition, to help you further understand how RefWorks can help your research work, the Library will arrange with the vendor to give a demonstration in September. All faculty members and students are welcome to attend the demonstration. (The date and venue will be announced later)
