As you know, globalization has brought the world much closer than ever before. Macau's ever-growing economic power and influence has raised its profile in the United States, and with the increasing U.S. investment in Macau, changes in the political or economic situation of the United States may be felt by residents here as well.

On January 28, US President George W. Bush will deliver his final State of the Union address. This speech is considered to be the most important annual speech by the President, especially in this election year. It will be a reflection of the current situation in the United States and a summary of actions that the executive branch plans to take during the remainder of his Administration's time in office.
