Dear All,

A new book entitled “Transferring Information Literacy Practices” written by Billy Tak Hoi Leung, Jacqueline Xie, Linlin Geng, and Priscilla Nga Ian Pun of the University of Macau Library was recently published and released by the Shanghai Jiaotong University Press / Springer. This book focuses on information literacy for the younger generation of learners and library readers. It is divided into four sections: 1. Information Literacy for Life; 2. Searching Strategies, Disciplines and Special Topics; 3. Information Literacy Tools for Evaluating and Utilizing Resources; 4. Assessment of Learning Outcomes.

To enhance the library use and meet the demands of learning, teaching and knowledge transfer of the university, the University of Macau Library has set up a team for the information literacy program. The team is composed of four experienced reference librarians. They give lectures, write research reports and provide various information on demand. This text book is the results of their teaching and experiences gained through practice. The book is prefaced by Dr. Wu Jianzhong, the University Librarian.
