The University of Macau hosts the Preparatory Meeting of the First International Forum on Chinese and Portuguese Languages Online (2022/04/08)

 

The Preparatory Meeting of the First International Forum on Chinese and Portuguese Languages was held online on April 6 at 7:00 pm Beijing time (11:00 am Lisbon time). More than 30 Portuguese and Chinese teachers and librarians from universities of various Portuguese-speaking countries and the Mainland attended the conference, including Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing Language and Culture University, Communication University of China, Shandong University, Shanghai International Studies University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, University of Lisbon, University of Minho, University of São Paulo and Campi Nass State University, etc. Professor Rui Martins, Vice-Rector (Global Affairs) of the University of Macau, said in the Opening Speech that this meeting is the first cooperation between the two alliances (ABAMAPLP and ABAMACHINA) and also the planning meeting for the First Portuguese-Chinese Bilingual Forum. It has taken a meaningful step to deepen the cooperation of the Alliances, promote the teaching and research of Portuguese and Chinese languages, and contribute to preparation of the first international forum. The meeting was held in three parallel sessions, with Portuguese as Foreign Language Teaching (hosted by Professor Maria Grosso and Professor Ana Nunes from the Portuguese Department of UM), Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language under the New Situation: Current Situation and Countermeasures (hosted by Professor Chen Zhong, Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute of UM), and the Portuguese Language Resource Platform of Academic Libraries Alliance (hosted by Professor Zhang Jing from the Department of Portuguese of UM) as themes respectively to have exchanges and sharing. The meeting was conducted in Chinese and Portuguese with simultaneous interpretation.
