Dear All,

The four treasures in any traditional Chinese study -- Paper, Brush, Ink and Inkstone, are the essential tools of writing and painting. Among them, inkstone is particularly treasured by Chinese scholars.

In order to promote the Chinese culture among members of the university community, the UM Library and the Zhaoqing Culture Broadcasting Television News and Publishing Bureau will jointly organize “Zhaoqing’s Treasure -- Exhibition on the Duan Inkstone of Contemporary China”as part of the activities for the“Macau Library Week” this year.

You are cordially invited to join the activities arranged for this exhibition:

(1) Exhibition Opening Ceremony
Date and Time : 19th April 2011, 4:00 p.m. (Tuesday)
Venue : Anthony S.W. Lau Exhibition Hall of UM Library

(2) Exhibition on Duan Inkstone
Exhibition period : 20th April 2011 to 14th May 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.(closed on public holidays)
Venue : Anthony S.W. Lau Exhibition Hall of UM Library

Display Items : It will display about 70 pieces of invaluable inkstones from Zhaoqing’s Museum and a variety of personal collections. The exhibition will provide video show for a better understanding on the inkstone culture. 

(3) Talk on Duan Inkstone Culture
Date and Time : 20th April 2011, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Wednesday)
Venue : Orientation Room I of UM Library
