Unveiling ceremony of “Window of Shanghai” was held at the University of Macau Library on 31st August, 2018. Xu Yibo, Vice Chairman of The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee and Song Yonghua, Rector of University of Macau were invited as the honorable guests.
The “Window of Shanghai”, as part of the “China Book International” (CBI), aims to introduce Chinese culture, promote Chinese civilization by providing overseas readers with latest Chinese publications, and thus strengthen the cultural connection between all the nations that take part. The project has 138 participating institutions in 66 countries and regions all over the world. This is also the first time for “Window of Shanghai” to extend to Hong Kong and Macau. At the beginning of the project, there were about 300 kinds of the books donated to University of Macau Library, which included subjects on humanities and social sciences, cultural customs, architecture, tourism, cooking, children's literature, etc.
The “Window of Shanghai” has been launched at Zone C, 2/F of University of Macau library. There is also an exhibition at the same zone entitled “From Morrison to Lu Gusun: Commemorating the 200th Anniversary of A Dictionary of the Chinese Language’s Publication”, provided by the Shanghai Library.
